AO Shock Absorber Assembly
The Rebco Shock Absorber is an in-string accessory placed between the instrument assembly and the wireline tool string to absorb and dampen the mechanical shock loads transmitted to the instrument during jarring operations, particularly the upward jar strokes used to retrieve stuck Collar Stops, Slip Stops, or other downhole assemblies with the instrument in the string. Even when the BW Bomb Well is in use, extreme jar loads can exceed the spring suspension's capacity and transmit damaging impacts to the recording instrument. The Shock Absorber provides an additional, higher-capacity buffer at the tool string level to protect against these loads.
