- A Gauge Cutter | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary A Gauge Cutter A Gauge Cutter The Rebco A Gauge Cutter is a multi-functional wireline tool that serves as the standard first run on any well before subsurface controls are deployed. Its primary mechanical function is to scrape and remove accumulated paraffin wax, corrosion scale, mineral deposits, and other foreign materials from the tubing's internal diameter, restoring a clean bore for the unrestricted passage of wireline tools and downhole equipment. Beyond cleaning, the Gauge Cutter simultaneously gauges the tubing bore, confirming that the tubing ID is clear and undamaged to the depth at which the tool tags, and allows the operator to locate and depth-reference landing nipples, collar restrictions, and no-go profiles within the completion string. The size relationship between the Gauge Cutter OD and the tubing ID is critical: the cutter should be selected to run as close to the tubing drift as practical for the work required. Running progressively smaller cutters and recording the depth at which each one tags an obstruction allows the operator to map the profile and extent of a bridge or restriction before committing to a remediation method. It is strongly recommended that a Gauge Cutter run be completed prior to any wireline operation involving the deployment of subsurface controls, running a lock mandrel, plug, or safety valve into an unverified bore, as this risks damaging the subsurface device or causing it to become stuck before it reaches its intended setting depth. Available in standard threaded connections, ¾"–6⅝" OD. Custom sizes available on special order. How to Order: Part Number is 10600x.xxx (0 prefix for ODs less than 1.00"). All Gauge Cutters are part-numbered by OD dimension to 3 decimal places ±.002". Metric parts: prefix 10601. - ROTXR Pump-Through Bottom Sub-Assembly | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary ROTXR Pump-Through Bottom Sub-Assembly ROTXR Pump-Through Bottom Sub-Assembly The Rebco ROTXR Pump-Through Bottom Sub-Assembly is designed for use with Lock Mandrels and Equalizing Valves (valve type) and is selected based on the nominal size and profile of the Landing Nipple in use. The sub incorporates a spring-loaded Ball and Seat assembly that holds pressure only from below, while providing a means to pump fluid through the plug from above. The assembly consists of four components: a Cage, a Ball and Seat Sub-Assembly, a Spring Retainer, and a Spring. Part numbers and full engineering data for the ROTXR are referenced in Section XVI (Plug Chokes), as this sub-assembly is integral to the plug choke system. When ordering, the operator must specify the Lock Mandrel size and type to be used, as well as the material required to suit downhole conditions and service requirements. How to Order: Product Code 21. Specify Lock Mandrel size and type to be used with, Landing Nipple profile, and material to suit downhole conditions. - ROTRB-2 Equalizing Check Valve Assembly | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary ROTRB-2 Equalizing Check Valve Assembly ROTRB-2 Equalizing Check Valve Assembly The Rebco ROTRB-2 is the ROTBR Landing Nipple equivalent of the ROTFB-2 , an Equalizing Check Valve that performs the same one-way flow control function but is designed specifically to seat on the bottom No-Go shoulder of the ROTBR Nipple profile rather than the ROTF . Like the ROTFB-2 , the ROTRB-2 is not locked into the nipple; it rests on the No-Go shoulder of the ROTBR nipple, which prevents downward movement, and incorporates the same built-in pressure equalizing method before retrieval. The distinction between the ROTFB-2 and ROTRB-2 is entirely one of nipple profile compatibility: the ROTFB-2 is for ROTF nipples, and the ROTRB-2 is for ROTBR nipples. Both share the same running and pulling tool requirements ( ROTC-1 Running Tool, SB or JDC Pulling Tool) and the same size range coverage (2⅜" through 4½", seal bores 1.781" to 3.813"). Selecting the correct valve for the nipple type in the completion string is critical. A ROTFB-2 will not seat correctly in a ROTBR nipple and vice versa. How to Order: Product Code 12. Specify nominal size, seal bore size, and material. Confirm the ROTBR nipple profile is present before selecting over the ROTFB-2 . - ROTPX Equalizing Prong and Valve Sub-Assembly | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary ROTPX Equalizing Prong and Valve Sub-Assembly ROTPX Equalizing Prong and Valve Sub-Assembly The Rebco ROTPX Equalizing Prong and Valve Sub-Assembly is the ROTX -family counterpart to the ROTPR , and when attached to a ROTX or ROTXN Lock Mandrel Assembly, converts the lock mandrel into a full Plug Choke with an integrated equalizing device capable of holding pressure differentials from both above and below. The ROTPX covers nipple seal bores from 1.500" through 4.562", matching the complete size range of the ROTX and ROTXN lock mandrel families. Like the ROTPR , the ROTPX incorporates a Prong with a Fishing Neck for independent Prong running and pulling operations, separate from the lock mandrel itself. Prong lengths range from 23.38" at the 1.875" seal bore up to 39.04" at the 4.313" and 4.562" seal bores, and the V-Packing OD scales from .630" at the smallest seal bores up to 2.313" at the largest. The Prong Running and Pulling Tool varies by size and must be correctly specified when ordering. All sizes are constructed from Norm Alloy, certified for H2S service per NACE MR-01-75, and all Equalizing Sub-Assemblies are available in a variety of materials to suit well conditions. How to Order: Product Code 24. Glossary CD Sampler (Drive Down) Bailer Assembly CD Sampler (Drive Down) Bailer Assembly The Rebco CD Sampler/Drive-Down Bailer is a dual-purpose tool engineered to take a physical debris sample from the obstruction site, or, in its longer drive-down configuration, to physically penetrate and capture a column of compacted debris for removal from the wellbore. The tool body consists of a top sub with a fishing neck, a primary collection tube, and an interchangeable bottom shoe valve. The angled mule shoe at the lower end helps guide the tool into debris and cuts a path of entry on the downstroke, while the ball or flapper valve at the base captures and retains the material on recovery. In the sampler configuration (2 ft tube length), the tool takes a representative grab sample of debris at the work site, allowing the operator to assess debris type, particle size, and composition at the surface before selecting the most appropriate full-scale bailing or remediation method. In the drive-down configuration (5 ft tube length), the tool is used to physically penetrate and extract a full column of compacted sand, scale, or granular debris that cannot be lifted by pump action alone. The angled mule shoe helps force entry into hard-packed material on the downstroke. Available with ball-type, flapper-type, or junk-catcher-type bottom shoe configurations, all of which are also available with optional mule shoe bottoms. Both 2 ft sample tube and 5 ft drive-down tube lengths are available as standard. Alternative tube lengths available on request. Available in 1½"–4" OD.
