CGO & Additional Types of Rope Sockets
CGO Rope Socket
The Rebco CGO Rope Socket is a calibrated slip rope socket with an integrated swivel bottom sub, designed for stranded lines up to ¼" diameter. The built-in swivel allows the tool string to rotate freely below the rope socket, preventing wire twist from being transmitted downhole. On braided and stranded lines, torsional forces transmitted into the tool string can cause the braid to unwind or open, leading to broken strands or mechanical jamming. The CGO's integrated swivel eliminates this risk in a single compact component. Available 1½"–1⅞" OD.
SA Swabbing Rope Socket
The Rebco SA Swabbing Rope Socket is a babbitt-fill (lead alloy) rope socket designed specifically for swabbing line in the ½" 9/16" diameter range. The babbitt fill grips the larger-diameter swabbing line securely, a cable too large to be tied in a conventional knot or retained by a standard wedge or disc assembly. Used to connect the swab assembly to the wireline unit for swabbing operations, where the swab cup is pulled through accumulated wellbore liquids to lift them to the surface.
