CX Check Set Tool Assembly
CX / CR Check Set Tools (Product Code 41)
Rebco Check Set Tools are used to verify the correct setting and functional integrity of downhole controls, specifically lock mandrels, safety valves, and other devices set by wireline jarring operations, without pulling the device back to surface. The CX type performs a downward check: it is lowered onto the set device, and a controlled downward jar is applied to confirm the device is properly locked in its set position and will not move under downstroke loading. The CR type performs an upward check: it latches the fishing neck of the set device, and a controlled upward jar is applied to confirm the device is securely anchored and will not move under upstroke loading. Passing both a CX and CR check confirms that the device is correctly set, locked in position, and capable of withstanding both the upward and downward loads it will experience during production operations. This in-situ verification eliminates the risk of leaving an improperly set device in the well, which could result in unplanned flow or loss of well control.
