F Running Tool
The Rebco F Running Tool is a simple, pin-through-ID running tool designed to set sub-surface tools with external fishing necks, secured by a transverse pin through the tool body ID. Unlike dog-engagement or collet-style running tools, the Type F physically pins through the ID of the sub-surface device's fishing neck, holding the device rigidly to the running tool body during the trip downhole. Once the device is set at the target depth, whether by downward jarring, collet engagement, or spring activation, the pin is sheared or the running tool is released by jarring, freeing the Type F for retrieval to the surface.
The primary sub-surface tools set with the Type F are FO Collar Stops (Product Code 110) and SS Tubing Slip Stops (Product Code 164), both of which are commonly used as depth stops and anchors for BHP instruments and other downhole equipment. The Type F is available in nominal sizes from 1¼" through 4½", with each size paired to its corresponding Collar Stop and Slip Stop assembly numbers for straightforward tool matching.
