ROTR & ROTX Selective Test Tool Assembly
ROTR Selective Test Tool (Product Code 14)
The Rebco ROTR Selective Test Tool represents a significant operational advancement over the ROTN: rather than seating passively on a No-Go shoulder, the ROTR uses a key-lock mechanism to selectively locate and lock in a specific ROTR or ROTRN Landing Nipple within the tubing string. This selectivity means the operator can choose which nipple to test, even when multiple nipples of the same nominal size are present in the completion string, and can move the tool from one nipple to the next without pulling it to the surface between tests.
The operational sequence is straightforward: the ROTR is run past the target nipple to a point below it. As the tool is pulled upward through the nipple, the spring-loaded locking keys expand into the nipple's key profile, and the tool sets itself at that depth. Applied surface pressure is then held by the tool's packing against the nipple bore. When the test is complete, pressure is equalized across the tool, and the same SSJ Pulling Tool that deployed the tool is used to pick it up through the keys into the next higher nipple in the string, repeating the test process. This multi-test capability in a single run significantly reduces the number of wireline trips required to test a multi-nipple completion.
Available in nominal sizes 2⅞" and 3½", compatible with ROTR and ROTRN nipple profiles. Run and retrieve using the SSJ Pulling Tool (Product Code 40). Pressure ratings of up to 18,500 psi (ROTR nipple) and 17,000 psi (ROTRN nipple) make the ROTR one of the highest-rated test tools in the Rebco catalogue.
How to Order: Product Code 14. Specify nominal size (2⅞" or 3½"), landing nipple profile (ROTR or ROTRN), and seal bore size. Specify SSJ Pulling Tool (Product Code 40) at the same nominal size as the accessory.
ROTX Selective Test Tool (Product Code 14)
The Rebco ROTX Selective Test Tool is the ROTX/ROTXN-family equivalent of the ROTR Selective Test Tool, providing the same selective key-lock deployment mechanism and multi-nipple repositioning capability but designed for ROTX and ROTXN Landing Nipples and also compatible with the ROTX Sliding Sleeve of the same nominal size, extending its utility beyond Landing Nipples alone.
The operational procedure mirrors the ROTR exactly: the ROTX is run below the target nipple, pulled upward to set the keys in the nipple profile, and pressure is applied from above. The pressure drop across the tool is equalized by picking up the Drop with the SSJ Pulling Tool before repositioning to the next higher ROTX or ROTXN nipple. Like the ROTR, the ROTX's No-Go shoulder also permits the tool to be set into ROTXN No-Go Landing Nipples, providing compatibility with both the selective (ROTX) and non-selective (ROTXN) nipple types in a single tool. The ROTX carries slightly lower pressure ratings than the ROTR, up to 10,000 psi in ROTX nipples and 8,000 psi in ROTXN nipples, reflecting the different geometric engagement of the ROTX profile.
Available in nominal sizes 2", 2⅞", and 3½", covering seal bore sizes from 1.875" to 2.813". Run and retrieve using the SSJ Pulling Tool (Product Code 40).
How to Order: Product Code 14. Specify nominal size, landing nipple profile (ROTX or ROTXN), and seal bore size. Order the SSJ Pulling Tool (Product Code 40) in the nominal size.
