SO & SD Spring Jar Assembly

SO Spring Jar (Threaded)

The Rebco SO Spring Jar is a telescoping upstroke jar in which a calibrated coil spring assembly stores energy as line tension is applied at the surface. As tension increases, the spring compresses via a trip-key mechanism until the pre-set release point is reached, at which point the trip keys retract, releasing the compressed spring energy and the stretch energy in the wireline simultaneously, driving the mandrel rapidly upward to deliver a high-intensity upstroke impact. The release point, and therefore the impact intensity, is pre-set on the surface using the supplied calibration unit before the jar is run into the well. The stem weight above resets the jar by compressing the cocking spring and re-engaging the trip keys for the next firing cycle. Because the spring jar uses no seals or hydraulic fluid, it is unaffected by downhole temperature or pressure variations and performs reliably in gas wells where gas infiltration would render a hydraulic jar ineffective. Available in standard threaded connections, 1½"–2½" OD.

SD Spring Jar (RQLD)

The Rebco SD Spring Jar is the RQLD quick-lock version of the Rebco SO, delivering the same preset, seal-free upstroke jarring capability with Rebco's double-shoulder Quick Lock System connection. Available in RQLD connections, 1½"–2½" OD.
