The Rebco Junk Basket is a recovery tool designed to collect and retain small pieces of metallic and non-metallic debris, shear pin fragments, split lock ring segments, broken tool parts, snap ring pieces, gravel pack media, or other small downhole junk that are lying loose in the wellbore below a work zone or on top of a subsurface device. The basket is lowered over the debris accumulation, and a controlled circulation or jar action captures and retains the loose pieces within the basket's internal catch chamber. The tool is equipped with a flow-through body that allows wellbore fluid to pass through while retaining captured solid particles above the catcher mechanism. Junk collected within the basket is retained on retrieval to the surface, allowing it to be identified and analyzed to diagnose the cause of a downhole failure.
