ROTBP Selective Positioning Tool Assembly

The Rebco BP Selective Positioning Tool is a downshift-only wireline shifting tool for completions containing multiple compatible sliding-side-door circulating devices of the same size. The tool is run through the selected sleeve with its control keys held retracted, allowing it to pass other sleeve locations without engagement. When the tool is pulled slowly back through the intended sleeve, the locating dogs move the tool into its engagement mode and expose the control keys. Controlled downward jarring then shifts the inner sleeve to the down position, after which the tool is designed to release automatically.

Product Code: 142

TOOL APPLICATION

Applications

  • Selectively shifting the inner sleeve of compatible sliding-side-door circulating devices to the down position.

  • Operating a designated lower sleeve in a tubing string containing multiple same-size sliding-side-door devices, without intentionally engaging sleeves above it.

  • Performing wireline sleeve-positioning operations where the tool passes through the target sleeve, is repositioned into engagement mode, and is then jarred downward to shift the sleeve.

Key Benefits

  • Selective sleeve access: Retracted keys allow the tool to pass compatible same-size sleeves until the intended sleeve is selected.

  • Controlled target engagement: The locating dogs change the tool from its selective passing mode to its engagement mode at the designated sleeve.

  • Automatic release: After the target sleeve completes its downshift travel, the tool is designed to release for repositioning to another device or retrieval to surface.

  • Multiple size configurations: Available in tool configurations matched to specified sliding-side-door IDs, tool ODs, connections, fishing-neck sizes, and key dimensions.
