- JUC Pulling Tool (Short Reach) Assembly | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary JUC Pulling Tool (Short Reach) Assembly JUC Pulling Tool (Short Reach) Assembly The Rebco JUC is a shear-up, short-reach pulling tool for external fishing necks. Its operational sequence mirrors that of the JDC : dogs snap over the fishing neck as the tool is lowered, and upward tension retrieves the device, but the critical difference lies in the release direction: rather than jarring down to release, the JUC releases by jarring upward. This makes the JUC the correct choice for sub-surface devices installed in completions or positions where a downward jar could risk damaging equipment below, driving the device further into a restriction, or creating an unsafe condition. The shear-up release also provides a distinct operational advantage when retrieving devices in wells with heavy fluid columns or high upward wellbore pressure, conditions that would make a downward jar difficult to deliver with sufficient force. In these situations, the upward jar needed to release the JUC is assisted by the wellbore pressure, making the release more reliable. The short-reach core suits fishing necks located near the top of the sub-surface device assembly. Available in nominal sizes from 1¼" to 4", with alloy construction throughout. How to Order: Available in assembly numbers from the JUC series. Specify the nominal size and confirm that the short reach is appropriate for the target fishing neck depth. - HD Hold-Down (No-Blow) Tool Assembly | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary HD Hold-Down (No-Blow) Tool Assembly HD Hold-Down (No-Blow) Tool Assembly The Rebco HD Hold-Down Tool, also known in the field as the No-Blow Tool, is an essential safety and operational accessory for BHP surveying in active or flowing wells. Its purpose is straightforward but critical: when a well is producing gas or fluid upward through the tubing during a survey, the upward flow creates a force that acts on the instrument assembly and tries to push it, and the entire wireline tool string back up the tubing. In severe cases, this upward force can blow the instruments and tool string back to the surface uncontrollably, creating a hazardous situation at the wellhead. The HD Hold-Down is placed in the tool string above the instrument assembly, and its spring-loaded dogs expand against the tubing wall to anchor the tool string downward against the upward flow force. A second benefit of the HD is that by anchoring the tool string in place, it reduces the total number of Stems required to keep the instruments at the survey depth, since the hold-down force from the dog grip supplements the weight of the stem, the operator can use less stem weight to achieve the same depth stability. The HD is available in nominal sizes 1½" through 5½", in both Amerada (¾"–16) and Sucker Rod (15/16"–10) pin-box thread connections, and is manufactured from Stainless Steel throughout for corrosion resistance in wellbore fluid environments. - A Tubing Swage | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Glossary A Tubing Swage A Tubing Swage The Rebco A Tubing Swage is a hardened-steel tool engineered to reform and restore lightly collapsed, dented, or otherwise constricted sections of tubing, thereby allowing wireline tools, subsurface controls, and completion equipment to pass through freely. When a section of tubing is mechanically deformed, whether from wellhead loads, surface handling damage, parted tubulars, or partial collapse from external pressure, the resulting restriction can prevent tools from reaching their target depth or trap tools already downhole. The Swage restores that bore without requiring a workover rig or tubing pull. The OD of the tool is machined to the drift diameter of the tubing in which it is to be run, the same standard used to qualify tubing for downhole tools during manufacture. Both the upper and lower ends of the Swage are tapered to ease entry into the restriction and provide gradual reforming action as the tool is jarred through. A central bore with lateral porting allows wellbore fluid to bypass through the tool body as it transits the tight section, preventing hydraulic lock from stalling or trapping the tool at the restriction. Because the swage must be forced through the constriction using downward jarring, upward jarring capability must also be included in the tool string to recover the swage in the event it becomes lodged. Available in standard threaded and Type C box-bottom connections, ¾"–6⅝" OD. Custom sizes available on special order. Important: Always include upward jarring capability in the tool string when running a Tubing Swage. If the swage becomes lodged in the restriction, jar-up capability is the primary recovery method. Running without jar-up risks leaving the swage trapped in the tubing. How to Order: Part Number is 10700x.xxx (0 prefix for ODs less than 1.00"). All Tubing Swages are part-numbered by OD to 3 decimal places ±.002". Metric prefix: 10701. For Type C (box bottom): specify at the time of order. If the box connection differs from the standard pin, specify the required thread.
