Running Tools
RUNNING TOOLS were designed primarily to set or position downhole flow controls and devices to a predetermined depth in the well by Wireline methods.
In general, these RUNNING TOOLS are attached to these devices by means of the SHEAR PINS, and other methods. When desired setting depth has been reached, manipulation of the Wireline Tool String places the devices in the SET or LOCKED position; and releases from the device by cutting the shear pin or pins which have held the running tool to the device.
The following pages will list some of the most common RUNNINGTOOL types offered by Rebco. The RUNNING TOOL names are often associated with the names for the devices used.

BG Running Tool
Rebco BG Running Tool is used to locate any one of the selective seal profiles in the well that accept accessories equipped with ROTS-1 or ROTS-2 Lock Sub-Assembly.

ROTC-1 Running Tool Assembly
Rebco ROTC-1 Running Tool is used to run in and land various types of Flow Control devices with external Fishing Neck.
Note: The Running Tool is run with either a Thread Protector or Locating Ring, depending on the application.

Rebco ROTRX Running Tool is designed to set Types: ROTR, ROTRN, ROTRQ, ROTRPT, ROTRNT, ROTX & ROTXN Locking Mandrels into its respective Nipple profiles. This Running Tool is generally used to install tubing safety valves in the uppermost Landing Nipples. BR Soft Release Running Tool Assembly
Rebco BR Soft Release Running Tool is designed to run and set recording instruments (see Product Code 33), attached to ROTS, ROTW & ROTZ Locks to be landed in corresponding Nipple profiles.
ROTTS Lock is to be set in the Tubing Coupling recess. This tool is an up strain, slack-off setting device.

ROTHR Hydraulic (Soft Release) Running Tool Assembly
Rebco Type ROTHR Hydraulic (Soft Release) Running Tool is used to set ROTXNS and ROTRNS Soft Set Instrument Hangers (see PRODUCT CODE 33) into the Landing Nipples of the same nominal size and respective profile.
NOTE: To compensate for the weight of the Instrument (s), use correct Number of Washers

F Running Tool
Rebco F Running Tool is used to set various types of sub-surface Tools; mainly tools that have external fishing necks which are pinned through the ID.
Typical Tools that can be set with F Running Tool are: Collar Stops and Tubing (Slip) Stops; (see PRODUCT CODE 110 and 164 respectively).

JU (Jay) Unlatching Running Tool
Rebco Type JU Unlatching Running Tool is an accessory tool used to set Instruments into the well bore on top of the pre-set stop. See Section VI - BHP Tools for more details.
To Run: Attach the J Head to the Instruments (Recorders). The Running Tool's 'JAY' slot allows the J Head to be unlatched by the weight of the tool string. 'J' Heads fishing neck is used to retrieve the instruments at later date with appropriate Pulling Tool, (See Section IV, PRODUCT CODE 40).
