- Modified PORN & POXN Test Tool Plug Assembly | Rebco Oil Tools, Inc.
Modified PORN & POXN Test Tool Plug Assembly Modified PORN & POXN Test Tool Plug Assembly Modified PORN & POXN Test Tool Plug Assembly Modified Test Tool Plug Assembly holds pressure from above only. For this reason, the 'V' Packing on the Lock Mandrel and the Prong face upwards. The Lock Mandrel is run with or without Keys into NON SELECTIVE Nipple (Bottom No-Go). Product Code: 14 Read More DOWNLOAD DATASHEET REQUEST A QUOTE Modified PORN & POXN Test Tool Plug Assembly Modified PORN & POXN Test Tool Plug Assembly Click here TOOL APPLICATION Applications High-integrity tubing pressure testing in bottom No-Go Landing Nipples, where a locked, two-component plug is preferred over a No-Go-seated one-piece tool Wells with sand or scale production where the extra-long Prong is required to prevent the assembly from being buried and stuck after testing Applications where the Lock Mandrel must be independently verified as set (using a Check Set Tool) before the Prong is run, confirming the seal seat is properly established before applying test pressure Key Benefits The two-component Lock Mandrel and Prong design provides a mechanically locked pressure seal, not reliant solely on the No-Go shoulder like the ROTN or check valves. Extra-long Prong option keeps the assembly base clear of sand and scales, significantly reducing the risk of post-test stuck-tool retrievals. Flexible deployment options: run with keys (two trips, mandrel first, then prong) or without keys (single trip with preassembled plug) Check Set Tool compatibility to confirm the proper lock mandrel setting before the Prong is run, adding a verification step before applying test pressure. Prongs available in specified lengths to suit the sand/scale environment; specify when ordering Disclaimer: Information is provided for reference only. TECHNICAL DATA RELATED TOOLS A. Running with Keys: - Use appropriate Running Tool. - Use Check Set Tool to ensure proper setting of the Lock Mandrel. - Run the Prong into the Lock Mandrel with appropriate SB Pulling Tool size. The Prong will seat itself, in the No-Go Sub attached to the Lock Mandrel, stopping by the bottom No-Go on the Prong B. Running without the Keys: - The position of the Fishing Neck and Expander Sleeve, (Parts of the Lock Mandrel) can be open or closed. For this reason the Prong can be inserted into the Plug and the whole assembly run on appropriate SB Pulling Tool size. C. Pulling the Plug Assembly without the Keys: - When pulling the Plug Assembly with appropriate SB Pulling Tool size, it is not uncommon that the Plug (Lock Mandrel with the Prong) is recovered together. If there is any sand or scale to hold the Plug, the Prong will be recovered first, and the Lock Mandrel is retrieved with appropriate ROTGS Pulling Tool size. D. Pulling the Plug Assembly with the Keys: - Use appropriate SB Pulling Tool size to pull the Prong first. - Use appropriate ROTGS Pulling Tool size to pull the Lock Mandrel. NOTE: The advantage of the Modified Test Plug (with extra-long Prong) use is that it minimizes the risk of being stuck beneath sand or scale after pressure testing the Tubing. When ordering: Specify the Type and Size of the Lock Mandrel and desired Length of the Prong.
