Service Tools
Service Tools are engineered for either singular or multi-functional applications in wireline operations. The Wireline Operator selects the appropriate tool based on the desired outcome.
Section II highlights a selection of these tools to help operators identify suitable options;
however, it does not represent the full range of tools available in this category. Rebco staff
are available to provide assistance for specific needs or additional options.
Type 'A' Blind Box
The Rebco Type 'A' Blind Box is a solid metal tool designed to jar obstructions downward through the tubing string, moving them to a position where they pose minimal disruption to operations. Additionally, the Blind Box serves as a method for parting the wireline at the rope socket, enabling the wireline retrieval using appropriate fishing tools.
Type 'A' Gauge Cutter
The Rebco Type 'A' Gauge Cutter is a multi-functional tool engineered for various wireline applications. Its primary function is to remove paraffin, corrosion, and other foreign materials from the internal diameter (ID) of the tubing string. The Gauge Cutter is also used to gauge and tag obstructions within the tubing and to locate and tag landing nipples in the wellbore.
Type 'A' Tubing Swage
The Rebco Type 'A' Tubing Swage is engineered to expand or reform constricted areas within the tubing's internal diameter (ID), ensuring the free passage of wireline tools and sub-surface controls. The tool features an outside diameter (OD) nearly equal to the tubing drift size, with tapered upper and lower ends to ease entry and exit. A central bore with lateral ports allows for efficient fluid bypass during operations.
Type 'A' Impression Block
The Rebco Type 'A' Impression Block is engineered to capture impressions of objects located within the tubing string. A molded lead insert, secured by pins through the tool body, provides a smooth surface that records the shape and orientation of the obstruction. This allows operators to assess the fish's profile and position accurately before initiating retrieval operations.
Type 'CH' and Type 'CF' Hydrostatic Bailer Assembly
The Rebco Hydrostatic Bailer is engineered to remove sand and debris from the wellbore effectively. The tool is sealed at the surface and runs into the well, with the body chamber maintained at atmospheric pressure. Upon reaching the target area, a downward jarring action shears the internal shear pin, allowing wellbore pressure to surge inward. This sudden pressure differential draws debris into the chamber.
Type 'SP' Sand Pump (Bailer) Assembly
The Rebco Type 'SP' Sand Pump (Bailer) is engineered to remove sand and debris from the wellbore efficiently. This pump-type tool operates on the principle of a conventional lift pump with a piston mechanism. An optional bottom valve - available in ball or flapper configurations (see following pages) - allows debris to enter the barrel on the upstroke of the piston, trapping material for easy retrieval at surface.
Type 'CD' Sampler (Drive Down) Bailer Assembly
The Rebco Type 'CD' Sampler (Drive Down) Bailer is engineered to collect samples of debris that have settled or bridged within the wellbore. By examining the recovered material, the operator can assess downhole conditions and determine the appropriate next steps in the wireline operation.
Type 'DB' Dump Bailer Assembly
The Rebco Type 'DB' Dump Bailer is engineered to deliver fluids or solids directly onto a sub-surface device within the wellbore. The tool is filled via a large port on the top (fill) barrel. Once positioned above the target device, a downward jarring action shears the shear pin, activating the shear plunger and rupturing the shear disc. This sequence releases the contents onto the sub-surface device.
Type 'SO' Swabbing Mandrel Assembly
Rebco Type 'SO' Swabbing Mandrel is used to manipulate the well fluid within the tubing in an effort to create upward flow. CAUTION: Rebco Type 'SO' Swabbing Mandrel is intended for light duty swabbing as required by Slickline operations. The Mandrel has no internal mechanism for "dumping" of the fluid in case of excessive weight pulled.
Type 'CX' Check Set Tool Assembly
The Rebco Type 'CX' Check Set Tool is engineered to verify the proper setting of 'ROTX' and 'ROTXN' Lock Mandrels within their corresponding Landing Nipple profiles. This tool ensures accurate placement and secure locking before proceeding with further operations.
Product Code: 41
Type 'CR' Check Set Tool Assembly
The Rebco Type 'CR' Check Set Tool is engineered to confirm the proper setting of 'ROTR' and 'ROTRN' Lock Mandrels within their corresponding Landing Nipple profiles. This tool ensures the lock mandrel is correctly engaged and seated before proceeding with subsequent operations.
Product Code: 41
TUBING DRIFTS
Tubing drifts are tools used to verify the internal diameter (ID) of tubing or other cylindrical components installed during tubing completion. This is done by pulling a precisely machined drift - sometimes referred to as a "rabbit" - through the tubing to confirm unobstructed passage.
Product Code: 163
Type 'JB' Junk Basket - Valve Catcher
The Rebco Type 'JB' Junk Basket - Valve Catcher is engineered to be set in a No-Go type Landing Nipple, positioned directly below the Side Pocket Mandrel. It is primarily used in gas lift operations during the changeout of gas lift or dummy valves. If a valve is accidentally dropped, the Catcher securely traps it, preventing damage to the equipment below.
Type 'AO' Tubing End Locator Assembly
Rebco Type 'AO' Tubing End Locator is used to locate the lower end of the tubing so that its depth may be measured accurately. The tool features a slotted body housing a spring-loaded finger, which is held in place by a shear pin.
As the tool exits the lower end of the tubing, the finger extends to a perpendicular position, indicating the tubing has ended. The finger will not re-enter the tubing until the shear pin is released, ensuring a clear and reliable depth reference.
Type 'ROTAO' Mechanical Tubing Perforator Assembly
Rebco Type 'ROTAO' Mechanical Tubing Perforator is used to perforate the tubing wall mechanically by manipulating the use of the Wireline Tool String.
Once set, progressive upward jarring force, the Punch (DET 4) penetrates the Tubing wall, thus creating the hole. At cycle end, the Punch is withdrawn to its starting position, triggering the safety locking mechanism, the Catch (DET 8) to lock the Perforator for safe removal.
Anchor Type Stops Assemblies for Tubing Perforator
Rebco Type 'CS' and/or Type 'TS' Anchor Stops are designed to screw directly into the base of the Tubing Perforator, and as a unit, to be set at desired depth.
Product Code: 62
Type 'CS' Collar Stop Anchor Assemblies
Type 'TS' Slip Stop Anchor Assemblies
Type 'FO' Collar Stop Tool Assembly
The Rebco Type 'FO' Collar Stop Tool is engineered to set securely in both API upset and non-upset tubing collar recess. The tool is run to the desired depth and then pulled upward to trip the springs, allowing the Collet to expand into the tubing collar. A downward jarring action on the fishing neck disengages the Running Tool while simultaneously locking the Collet into place.
Type 'SS' Tubing Slip Stop Assembly
Rebco Type 'SS' Tubing Slip Stop is designed to be set in the API or Premium Tubing. The Slip Stop is lowered in the tubing to the desired depth; a rapid downward movement expands the Slips and sets the Stop. Downward jarring drives the serrated Slips against the tubing wall and releases the Running Tool.
